Spaghetti Code Presents the Minneapolis Developer Roundtable - Podcast Online and Video Coming Soon

12/4/2007 5:17:00 AM

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to sit down with a collection of Microsoft .NET developers from the Minneapolis area (and one from Des Moines via conf call - WTG Jav!).  These guys are a collection of presenters, book writers, bloggers, MVPs, RDs, and just all around "much-smarter-than-me"-type of guys.

The topic for the evening was Rich Internet Applications.  That was it.  I throw out some initial conversation starter statements and then we were into the discussion full flow.  Some of it was was "what does it mean to developers", other parts from an application impact perspective, and a fair amount of "what does it mean to the people that use the software we write" view point.

It was all very interesting and worth listening to IMHO.  You can download the podcast here (sorry, if I really start to do this more often I will figure out the whole enclosure thing with the blog engine I am self hosting).  Later today or tomorrow, I will also be posting a video of the event.  What is cool about the video is that we used the new Microsoft RoundTable device to record the event.

The plus side is you can see each speaker as they speak and still get the panoramic view of everyone else.  Negatives are that it is tough to get the audio to synch back to the video when you want to deliver the results in a way other than the default RoundTable playback.  But hey, for a first attempt it came out ok and I am sure it will get better as we do it more.  I'll make a download for your Zune and a Silverlight online view as well.
